2.6. Public Comments on Agenda Items
Description:
The Board will hear comments on agenda items that are being presented for consideration at this meeting.
Residents or taxpayers of the Nazareth Area School District who wish to make a public comment on agenda items shall comply with Policy 903-Public Participation and shall register their intent with the Board Secretary in advance of the meeting and shall include the name and municipality of the participant and the topic to be addressed. Nazareth ASD Board Meeting Comment Request Form Participants must be recognized by the presiding officer and must preface their comments by an announcement of their name. Approve the recommendation to hire Andrew Snyder as a Business Education Teacher replacing Jaimie Osborn (movement), with an initial assignment at Nazareth Area Middle School, effective on a date to be determined, at Step 1 of the Master's Salary Schedule, $60,613 (pro-rated) and with other terms and conditions currently in effect between the Nazareth Area School District and the Education Association pending receipt of all required paperwork. Approve the recommendation to hire Brianna Weaver as a Biology Teacher replacing Nicholas Ciambrone (resignation), with an initial assignment at Nazareth Area High School, effective at the start of the 2026-2027 school year, at Step 1 of the Bachelor's Salary Schedule, $57,951 and with other terms and conditions currently in effect between the Nazareth Area School District and the Education Association pending receipt of all required paperwork. It is understood that employment is provisional until all required paperwork is received, based on the requirements of the Public Employee Relations Act and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. 20. Approve the recommendation to hire Emily Duddy as a Special Education Teacher replacing Hannah Kassim (resignation), with an initial assignment at Kenneth Butz Elementary School, effective on a date to be determined, at Step 7 of the Master's Salary Schedule, $69,880 (pro-rated) and with other terms and conditions currently in effect between the Nazareth Area School District and the Education Association pending receipt of all required paperwork. It is understood that employment is provisional until all required paperwork is received, based on the requirements of the Public Employee Relations Act and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. 21. Approve the recommendation to hire Jessica Zeiner as a Long-term Substitute Teacher for Lori Everitt, with an initial assignment at Kenneth Butz Elementary School, effective on August 25, 2026, at Step 1 of the Bachelor's Salary Schedule, $57,951 and with other terms and conditions currently in effect between the Nazareth Area School District and the Education Association pending receipt of all required paperwork. It is understood that employment is provisional until all required paperwork is received, based on the requirements of the Public Employee Relations Act and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. 22. Approve the recommendation to hire Jamie Iorio as a Long-term Substitute Teacher for Brynn Laubach, with an initial assignment at Nazareth Area Intermediate School, effective on a date to be determined, at Step 1 of the Bachelor's +12 Salary Schedule, $58,174 (pro-rated) and with other terms and conditions currently in effect between the Nazareth Area School District and the Education Association pending receipt of all required paperwork. It is understood that employment is provisional until all required paperwork is received, based on the requirements of the Public Employee Relations Act and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. 23. Approve the request to hire Harold Eckhart as Custodian, replacing Cinda Young (retirement), effective on a date to be determined, with an initial assignment at Nazareth Area High School, and with other terms and conditions currently in effect between the Nazareth Area School District and the Teamster Union Local #773 Collective Bargaining Agreement, pending receipt of all required paperwork. It is understood that employment is provisional until all required paperwork is received and satisfactory, based on the requirements of the Public Employee Relations Act and the Pennsylvania Department of Education. 24.
