In addition, to approve the department to partner with certified e-waste recycling providers to remove technology equipment that has exceeded its useful life. This approval would allow the department to conduct recycling efforts as needed. The identified devices have negligible resale value, require certified data destruction, and occupy storage space needed for district operations. Recycling through an approved vendor provides secure, compliant disposal at no cost to the district. Equipment deemed suitable for resale will be presented to the Board in specific proposals. The department will continue to utilize additional sales channels via the district’s Municibid platform, as well as eBay to recoup technology costs.
