3.D. PA Department of Community and Economic Development Public School Facility Improvement Program Grant
Description:

The Administration is requesting the approval of the Department of Community and Economic Development, Public School Facility Improvement Grant. The District is requesting a grant in the amount of up to $6,500,000 from the Department of Community and Economic Development for the refurbishment and installation of HVAC replacements at the following buildings: North Wales Elementary & York Ave. Elementary. We would also be submitting for the interior lighting replacement at A.M. Kulp Elementary, Nash Elementary and North Wales Elementary. 

The total project cost estimated budget at $6,500,000.00, with the possibility of incentives, rebates, and grants in the amount of up to 75% of the total project cost or $4,875,000.00. The district would be required to provide a promissory share of 25% or a cost of the project in the amount of $1,625,000.00, or the balance of the difference between the grant awarded and the total project cost. These items are currently listed on the current Capital Needs list and are to be included in the upcoming Facilities Assessment. This application is due by August 7, 2026.
