RULES FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
 
The Board of School Directors encourages comments from community members during the Citizen Comment section of the agenda.  Upon being recognized by the Board President, an individual should state his/her name, confirm that they are either a parent, guardian, resident, taxpayer, district employee, district student, or anyone representing a group or firm in the community and may speak to the Board for a period no longer than five minutes.  No participant may speak more than once on the same topic unless all others who wish to speak on that topic have been heard. Questions posed during Citizen Comment will not be addressed during the meeting.  If a question requires follow-up, the Board President or Superintendent will follow up individually.

The Board requests that neither complaints concerning job performance nor allegations of misconduct relating to specific employees or students be raised at a Public Meeting.  Such concerns should be referred directly to the Superintendent. 

The Board will conduct its meetings civilly and respectfully.  All Citizen Comments deserve that same respect from both the Board and other meeting attendees.  At the discretion of the Board President, verbal disruptions, commotion, or other disrespectful comments/behaviors may result in a verbal warning, termination of the comment, Board recess, or termination of all Citizen Comments. 

The first Citizen Comment period will concern only topics listed on that meeting’s agenda, and will last no more than 45 minutes.

The second period can be on any topic, and will last for no more than 45 minutes.
