Description:
The Shapiro Administration is committed to ensuring students’ health, wellness, and safety, and believes no student should miss school because they cannot afford menstrual products. With this support, schools can reduce unnecessary absences and promote student well-being by providing free access to these products.
The enacted 2026-27 state budget includes $3 million for schools to increase student access to menstrual products. The funding, pursuant to Section 2505.1 of the Public School Code, allows schools to purchase menstrual product dispensers as one-time purchases and procure menstrual products to make available to students at no cost both at school and for take-home use.
